Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using calcorama.com (the \"Site\"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (\"Terms\"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Calcorama. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time; continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
The Site is intended for users of all ages as an educational resource. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction (typically 18 years), you must use the Site only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Site, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements or that a consenting adult is supervising your use.
3. Description of Service
Calcorama provides a curated collection of free, interactive calculators covering topics such as finance, health, science, construction, technology, and daily life. Calculators are offered as educational and reference tools and are accessible without registration. We reserve the right to add, modify, suspend, or remove any calculator or feature at any time without notice.
4. Permitted Use
You may use the Site for the following purposes:
- Personal, educational, or research reference — running calculations for your own information.
- Commercial reference — using a Calcorama estimate as one input among many in a professional context, provided you independently verify material figures.
- Embedding — embedding any published calculator in your own site or application via the official embed widget at /
/embed/ /, subject to keeping the Calcorama attribution visible. - [Sharing — sharing deep-link URLs generated by the "Share" feature of a calculator page.]
5. Prohibited Use
You must not:
- Scrape, crawl, or automatically harvest calculator results at a frequency or volume that would place unreasonable load on our infrastructure — including via scripts, bots, or API-emulation. Reasonable single-user browsing is not affected by this rule.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, deobfuscate, or reproduce the obfuscated JavaScript formula bundles (files under core/static/calcorama/js/calculators/). These bundles are subject to copyright and technical-protection-measure protections.
- Submit feedback or other content that is abusive, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise unlawful, including spam, phishing, or malicious links.
- Attempt to circumvent rate-limiting or throttling measures (vote limits, feedback quotas).
- Misrepresent Calcorama results as professional financial, medical, legal, or tax advice — see our Disclaimers for details.
- Use the Site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction or in France, the governing jurisdiction of these Terms.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including calculator formulas, source code, obfuscated bundles, design, text, graphics, and the \"Calcorama\" name and logo — is the property of Calcorama or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trade-mark, and other intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works based on our content without explicit prior written permission, except as permitted by fair use or equivalent doctrine in your jurisdiction.
When you submit feedback through the Site, you grant Calcorama a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, display, and incorporate that content for the purposes of operating and improving the Site. You represent that you own or have the right to grant this licence and that your content does not infringe any third-party rights.
7. No Warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CALCULATORS ARE PROVIDED \"AS IS\" AND \"AS AVAILABLE\", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. Calculator outputs are estimates based on the inputs you provide and the formulas we implement; they may be subject to rounding errors, formula edge-cases, or outdated parameters (such as tax brackets). We do not warrant that results are complete, accurate, current, or fit for any specific purpose. See our Disclaimers for domain-specific warnings.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CALCORAMA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. BECAUSE THE SITE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SITE SHALL NOT EXCEED ZERO EUROS (EUR 0). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES; IN THOSE JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Calcorama and its contributors from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Site in violation of these Terms; (b) your submission of content that infringes a third party's rights; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
10. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to external websites for reference purposes. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those sites. Visiting third-party links is at your own risk.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tribunal Judiciaire de Créteil (Val-de-Marne, France), unless mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence confer jurisdiction on a local court.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely achieves the original intent.
13. Contact
Questions about these Terms may be sent to contact@calcorama.com.
